My Breadbox

July 16, 2008 at 2:04 pm (Decorative Painting)

I have only been blogging since June, but I have been taking decorative painting lessons since September 2006.  They quite frankly, saved me from my own insanity 🙂

When I paint, I can slip into my right brain.  My OCD is tamped down for a time and my intention tremors as a result of my MS subside.  I can’t explain that one!!  Why do I have tremors to apply make-up, write, eat, et al, but yet I can paint without them, unless I am extremely tired!!  The Decorative Painting Modules have been created by David Jansen and the Heritage Artists, using the “Traditions” line of paint.

Anyway, I thought I’d share one of my favorite creations with you.  I had to adjust and adapt this pattern — basically re-pattern it — to fit on an old breadbox.  I am very proud of the finished product — Just so you know, I sanded the top of this breadbox 13 times until I painted it to my satisfaction.  I honestly did!!

The original, messy breadbox

This just makes me smile...

Now that is one happy breadbox!!!
