My Crabby Cat, Max

October 3, 2008 at 12:05 pm (Musings...)

Max came into our family in 2001.  I grew up with cats, Grandma Kitty, Boodles, Kelly-Bob, just to name a few.  We treated them like our family, including dressing them in doll clothes!!

We rescued Max as a kitten, gave him a nice home, a warm bed (mine!) and food.  You would think he would be grateful to me.  Mmmm… not so much.  The expression on his face in the picture is his normal one.  If he wants petted, he will visit us, but otherwise he just wants to be left alone!!!!  He is an ol’ crabby pants!!

I almost brought a very nice kitty home from paint class the other night.  She jumped into my car as I was loading my paint supplies.  She was very nice!  I called Danny O. and suggested that it would be a nice thing for me to rescue this pretty kitty — he didn’t think that was a good idea.

I told Max he could have had a sister, but his expression didn’t change.  {{Sigh!!}}  Mr. Maximus will probably live to be 20 — can you imagine how he will behave when he is an old man cat!!!

I had a kitten on my doorstep once and when I opened the door to try to get in, the kitten raced in my apartment, went in my bedroom, and jumped up on my bed to snuggle. I’m not a cat person, but I was tempted to keep that one! I’m sorry yours is crabby! Perhaps a friend would have made him more friendly. Or not…. 🙂
