Grammy, XX-Stitch, Angels Unaware

April 17, 2009 at 6:34 pm (Decorative Painting, Musings...)

I realized today I was eating a Raspberry Cheese Danish just like my Grammy used to eat sweets… a sliver at a time, evening out the edges as she went along.   She never saw a cake she couldn’t make look better by straightening out the edge 🙂

I used to cross-stitch, until my eye-hand coordination got so bad that I couldn’t.  The last major piece I xx-stitched is pictured below — tea-stained linen stitched over one thread…  I think my OCD briefly got out of control — WHAT WAS I THINKING!!

It contains one of my favorite Bible verses.  “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:2

Kindness indeed goes a long way!!

One of my favorite decorative painting pieces I completed early in my journey — the Bird and Heart Plate.  It makes me smile 🙂

I remember you working on that x stitch piece Melodye. You are so persistant and do not have attention deficit problems. I have so many half finished projects…I have started to throw them away.
