Attitude Adjustment

August 28, 2009 at 8:34 am (Musings...)

Yesterday, I had a lousy attitude about a situation… the specific circumstances don’t matter.  As I was silently fuming, the Holy Spirit was already at work.

One of my favorite passages of scripture is: “He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”  Micah 6:8

I am learning a new song, “Legacy,” by Nicole Nordeman.  One of the lines from that song reads:

Did I choose to Love? Did I point to You enough to make a mark on things?  I want to leave an offering; a child of mercy and grace who blessed your name unapologetically, and leave that kind of legacy.

As the verse in Micah and the song lyrics filtered through my mind, I felt my spirit soften, the destructive anger leave my heart.   I asked for forgiveness for my thoughts and moved forward in victory!!
